1. Product Overview
The on-load tap-changing transformer (OLTC transformer) is a core power transmission and distribution equipment specially designed for real-time voltage regulation under live load conditions. Different from conventional no-load tap-changing transformers that require power outage for voltage adjustment, this product is equipped with a high-precision built-in on-load tap changer, which can automatically or manually adjust the transformer turns ratio without interrupting power supply and normal load operation.
Developed and manufactured strictly in accordance with international IEC standards and domestic power industry specifications, this transformer effectively solves common power grid problems such as voltage deviation caused by line loss, load fluctuation, and new energy power generation instability. It stably maintains the output voltage within the rated allowable range, ensures the safe and stable operation of power systems and terminal electrical equipment, and is a key device for voltage optimization and power quality improvement in modern power grids and industrial power distribution systems.

3. Product Core Features
3.1 Uninterrupted Voltage Regulation, No Power Outage Loss
The built-in high-performance on-load tap changer adopts make-before-break transition technology with transition resistance arc suppression structure. It realizes seamless switching of tap positions under full-load operation, completely avoiding production shutdown and power supply interruption caused by voltage regulation. This feature greatly reduces economic losses caused by power outage adjustment, which is especially suitable for scenarios with continuous and uninterrupted power demand.
3.2 Low Energy Consumption and High Operational Efficiency
The transformer core is made of high-quality cold-rolled oriented silicon steel sheet with fine shearing process, which effectively reduces no-load loss and no-load current. Compared with traditional ordinary transformers, the overall power saving rate is significantly improved. In long-term grid operation, the energy-saving benefit is prominent, and the equipment cost can be recovered through power saving in 2-3 years, bringing long-term economic benefits for users.
3.3 Stable Operation and Long Service Life
All core components are strictly screened and tested. The tap changer has excellent mechanical stability and anti-arc ability, with a mechanical service life of more than 500,000 operations. The overall equipment has strong resistance to voltage fluctuation, impact load and harsh environmental interference. The fully sealed oil tank structure prevents moisture and dust from entering, reducing internal component aging and failure rate, and extending the overall service life of the equipment.
3.4 Intelligent and Convenient Operation
It supports manual on-site adjustment and automatic intelligent voltage regulation. Equipped with a matching voltage monitoring control system, it can real-timely monitor output voltage changes, automatically adjust tap positions according to load changes and grid voltage fluctuations, and maintain stable voltage output. Meanwhile, it supports remote data transmission and background monitoring, which is convenient for centralized management of power grid operation.
3.5 High Safety and Strong Adaptability
Multiple safety protection designs such as over-current, over-voltage, oil temperature over-limit and gas protection are integrated. It can quickly respond to and isolate faults to avoid equipment damage and grid accidents. The equipment can adapt to high temperature, high humidity, high altitude and other harsh working environments, with strong environmental adaptability and wide application coverage.
4. Application Scenarios
4.1 Power Grid Transmission and Distribution System
Widely used in urban regional substations, county-level grid hub substations, rural power grid upgrading and reconstruction projects. It solves the problem of unbalanced voltage and large fluctuation of regional power grids, stabilizes terminal power supply quality, and ensures the safe and reliable operation of public power grids.
4.2 New Energy Power Generation Projects
It is the core supporting equipment for photovoltaic power stations, wind farms and energy storage power stations. New energy power generation has the characteristics of intermittence and volatility, which easily causes grid voltage fluctuation. The OLTC transformer can real-timely adjust voltage to stabilize grid connection parameters of new energy power generation, improve grid connection efficiency and power generation stability.
